GB listings for July, 2017 - Romanian

I still consider the Romy to be the best value in SKSs today.  They are built like tanks, even if they trend a bit uglier then their brethren.

One decent Romanian and two I was afraid to look at, knowing that once seen it cannot be unseen rofl

Slim pickings this month. Does the bolt carrier on the $430 refurb look polished?

Looks pretty bright to me, much like my 1960 RC prefix Romy:

I have an Alby that has a chromed carrier (based on the limited testing I've done on it.)  I wish the rest of the gun was as nice as the carrier is:

Cugir really does some nice work. I wasn't sure if they did the polishing on the BC, but if they are often observed in this condition then I'd guess they are factory.

That chromed Albanian BC is cool  8)  thumb1

Aside: I wish I had a hand held X-Ray Fluorometer for the tool box but at 6-12K I don't think I'm likely to ever own one. Maybe it's time to make friends with the MatSci guys at the lab, or Billy-Bob at the scrap yard. It sure would be fun to take a look at chromed parts, different alloys of steel from the different countries, etc.

It means whatever the seller thinks it means. Maybe he's not an SKS expert, he's never taken it apart, and every number he sees matches. Ask specific questions and if you don't get the answers you want or need,  walk away.
