1941 mosin nagant
« on: June 05, 2018, 05:23:58 PM »
I have thought about purchasing one for awhile and last month found one that looked good. Looking closer at butt plate it may have been scrubbed and re stamped. The stock has a refurb mark on it also. This is the only one that I have and don't know much about them.

Looks like a nice refurbished M91/30 from Izhevsk. Everything has been scrubbed and force-matched to the receiver (notice the font on the 4 relative to the other parts) at the 1st GRAU Arsenal (refurbishment facility) in Balakleya, Ukraine.

I didn't notice the font on the 4. When you mentioned it, I had to look closely to notice it. I had thought that it was only the butt plate but I see now it was more. Still a nice looking rifle.  Thanks for the info.

Probably 99+% of the M91/30s that remained in Soviet hands are refurbished, so there’s nothing wrong with them  thumb1

Just makes the non-refurbs extra special.

I admit it, I woulda bought it return or not.... but I'm a Mosin whore.  :)

Remember, refurbs of any variant need love too  thumb1

I do have 2 Spanish Civil War and 2 Dragoons that never saw a refurb shop.
I'm going to make him an offer he can't refuse......

Leave the gun, take the cannoli.

I said I was an addict........I didn't say I had a problem

Most refurbs have non-matched bayonets too... lucky shot there getting the matched one. My first Mosin was a 1941, too.
